Impact Wealth Magazine (IWM): Jeremy, your journey into the world of event planning is nothing short of fascinating. How did it all begin?
Jeremy: It all started in rural Pennsylvania, where my days were filled with fly-fishing and playing blues guitar. Growing up in a place where there wasn’t much else to do, I found solace in music and the great outdoors. I eventually started playing local gigs, which led me to collaborate with various artists and producers. Music taught me how to create meaningful connections with people, and that sense of connection eventually led me to event planning. I realized I enjoyed creating experiences that brought people together and helped make special moments unforgettable.
IWM: You’ve worked with some of the most influential names in the industry, including a decade long tenure with Lyor Cohen during his time at Warner Music Group. What was that experience like?**
Jeremy: Working with Lyor was transformational. He’s a visionary who demands the best, which pushed me to refine my craft. Planning everything from artist release parties to intimate family gatherings taught me how to align logistics with high expectations while maintaining the essence of his brand. It was a masterclass in precision, adaptability, and discretion.
IWM: Your involvement in New York Fashion Week and Met Gala events is legendary. Can you share some highlights from those experiences?**
Jeremy: Fashion Week and the Met Gala are the epitome of high-energy creativity. For the Met Gala, I’ve collaborated with private clients like Tory Burch, planning pre-event soirées where every detail must embody elegance. During Fashion Week, I was responsible for orchestrating in-store events, private backstage gatherings, and after-parties for fashion luminaries like Marc Jacobs and Diane von Furstenberg. The energy the creativity of these events are unmatched.
IWM: You’ve also worked on some incredibly exclusive events for royalty and billionaires. How do you approach planning for such high-profile clients?**
Jeremy: Planning events for these type of clients is a different ballgame. It requires a deep understanding of privacy, security, and the ability to create a seamless experience that feels both grand and intimate. These clients expect the extraordinary, and it’s my job to deliver that with discretion and precision. Whether it’s a private photoshoot for a Saudi princess or an exclusive party for some of the world’s wealthiest individuals, the key is in the details, the personal touch, and the ability to exceed expectations.
IWM: Aside from your event planning expertise, you also have a background in music. Tell us about your journey from playing guitar in Pennsylvania to almost joining Velvet Revolver.**
Jeremy: Music has always been a significant part of my life. I taught myself to play guitar by ear at a young age, and before long, I was collaborating with local blues artists and impressing audiences on stage. Over time, I discovered my voice and realized I had a knack for singing. For years, I honed my skills at open mic nights, which eventually led to a development deal with Mercury Records.
One of the most surreal opportunities of my career came when I was invited to audition as the lead singer for Velvet Revolver. I flew out to meet the band, performed some of their songs, and even co-wrote tracks alongside the legendary Slash and members of Guns N’ Roses. It was an unforgettable experience that included having one of my songs featured on the soundtrack for Marvel’s The Avengers Music taught me the importance of storytelling and emotional connection. These experiences instilled in me a deep appreciation for artistry, which I carry into event planning. Each event tells a story—of the client, their vision, and the memories they want to create.
IWM: You relocated from New York City to South Florida. What inspired that move, and how has it influenced your work?**
Jeremy: Relocating to South Florida was a decision I made to change up my home base and embrace a new chapter. My then-girlfriend, now wife, Jostacia O’Shea and I decided to open an office here together. It was an exciting opportunity to combine our talents and create something unique.
We actually met early on in my career when she hired my company to work with one of her billionaire clients. Jostacia was responsible for managing her client’s social calendar, which was as intricate as you’d imagine when working with the 1% of the industry elite. It included chartering their private jet and preparing their home for events and private celebrations with friends and family, regardless of the location of their vacation homes around the world. It was really cool to meet someone like her who not only understood the lifestyle and stress of this industry but also shared the same passion for creating exceptional experiences.
Over time, she became my business partner, and together we launched Private Event Group, blending my existing company in New York with hers. Her expertise, particularly in managing high-caliber clients, has been invaluable. Working alongside someone who truly understands the intricacies of this industry has been a game changer, and I couldn’t imagine doing this without her.
IWM: What’s next for you? Any new projects or goals on the horizon?**
Jeremy: My focus is on continuing to grow Private Event Group in both Florida and New York, while also exploring new opportunities. Austin, Texas, has been on my radar lately. The city’s vibrant energy and incredible music scene feel like a perfect fit for my passions and expertise, so expanding there is something I’m seriously considering. I’m also interested in collaborating with larger companies and consulting with their event and marketing teams to enhance their events and streamline their overall processes.
Beyond events, I’ve developed a strong interest in real estate investment. Jostacia and I have been steadily building our portfolio, and it’s exciting to think about what’s next for us in that space.
Jostacia who was born and raised in South Africa, has truly opened my eyes to the beauty of the country and its people—it’s a place that’s completely stolen my heart. Spending time there has inspired me creatively, and I’m thrilled to be working on some new music collaborations with South African artists. Music has always been a huge part of my life, and I’m looking forward to releasing those projects in the near future while continuing to find new ways to express creativity and connection.
