On Thursday, August 27, the ever popular annual event will once again bring the excitement of the US Open to one of Manhattan’s most storied hotels, combining leading tennis talent with elevated food, cocktails, and the allure of New York’s late summer social season.
This year’s Smash Bash will feature Alexander Bublik, the Kazakhstani World Top 10 player, and Anastasia Potapova, the professional, former Junior World No. 1, and 2016 Wimbledon Girls’ Singles Champion. The New York Observer will serve as the event’s official media sponsor.
From 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, guests will enjoy tennis inspired culinary stations, a premium wine bar, and signature cocktails. They will also have the opportunity to challenge the players to table tennis and win signed memorabilia.
A Storied Lineup
Smash Bash has carved out its own place in The Pierre’s modern history. The event debuted in 2017 with Wimbledon champion Garbiñe Muguruza, who returned to host again the following year. In 2019, Muguruza was joined by Dominic Thiem, while two time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitová headlined the 2023 celebration. Alexander Bublik and Dayana Yastremska carried the tradition forward in 2025, with Bublik now returning to the lineup this year.
