A Hamptons Summer Tradition Returns
On Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 5 p.m., Herrick Park, East Hampton Village, will host the East Hampton Library’s 22nd Annual Authors Night fundraiser, one of the most anticipated and celebrity-studded gatherings of the Hamptons summer season. Known as the Premier Literary Event of the Hamptons, the evening brings together 100 authors spanning every genre, cementing its place as one of the largest and most successful library-author events in the country.
“As we celebrate the 22nd anniversary of Authors Night, we’re excited to once again bring this beloved event to the Village of East Hampton,” said Dennis Fabiszak, Director of the East Hampton Library. “The funds raised at Authors Night allow us to continue offering essential programs and services at the library, completely free of charge, to our diverse community all year long.”
An Evening of Books and Conversation
The celebration begins at 5 p.m. with the Authors Cocktail Party reception, held under a grand tent where guests mingle with authors, sample hors d’oeuvres and wine, and purchase books for personal inscription. At 8 p.m., guests holding higher tier tickets continue the evening at one of several Author Dinner Parties, hosted at private homes throughout the area in honor of the evening’s guest authors.

This year’s participating authors include Amy DuBois Barnett, Robert A. Caro, Amy Chozick, Tom Clavin, Florence Fabricant, Tom Freston, Eddie Glaude, Paul Goldberger, Bianna Golodryga, Xochitl Gonzalez, Michael Gross, Alice Harris, Madeleine Henry, Steve Israel, Karine Jean-Pierre, Aphrodite Jones, Tom Junod, Carol Leifer, Don Lemon, Andrew Lownie, Jenn Lueke, Jay McInerney, David Netto, Chris Pavone, Ali Rosen, Adam Ross, Sabrina Rudin, Allison Winn Scotch, John Searles, Alyssa Sheinmel, Beth Stern, Michael Symon, Heather Ann Thompson, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and many others. Event Details
Authors Night will take place under a grand tent, rain or shine, on the Herrick Park field at 67 Newtown Lane in the village of East Hampton, New York. Dinner parties will be held separately at private area homes. The event itself is not held at the library.
Tickets are priced at 150 dollars for the Authors Reception only, with dinner packages, which include entry to the book signing reception, beginning at 500 dollars.
