Rescue Dogs Rock NYC’s Cocktails for Canines Gala Raises Funds for New Rescue Center
The not for profit animal rescue organization Rescue Dogs Rock NYC (RDRNYC) held its annual Cocktails for Canines gala in New York City. The cocktail and dinner reception raised funds and awareness to help animals in need and was co-chaired by Georgina Bloomberg and Lara Trump.
The charity has acquired its own rescue and rehabilitation center in Suffolk County on Long Island, giving Rescue Dogs Rock NYC a permanent home to care for dogs in need. The new space allows the organization to save significantly more needy and deserving dogs. The center sits on half an acre and includes indoor and outdoor kennels alongside ample outdoor space.
The development of the center has been three years in the making, and Rescue Dogs Rock NYC is thrilled to have come this far. Despite raising $150,000 at the gala, the organization still anticipates needing approximately another $150,000 to fully prepare the center, open its doors, and begin taking in dogs.
Rescue Dogs Rock NYC’s outreach and education efforts extend through its website and social media, as well as community events such as its annual gala.
A Night Bringing Together Advocates and Supporters
Notable attendees included Jackie O’Sullivan, Stacey Silverstein, Georgina Bloomberg, Lara Trump, Jeanine Pirro, Marin Gellar, Olga Ferrara, Tijana Ibrahimovic, Jean Shafiroff, Rita Cosby, Judy Gilbert, Jennifer Martucci, Nicole Tufano, Mrs. Moadelovddian, Mrs. Shanoz, Margaret Luce, Leesa Rowland, Cagri Kanver, Nadja Sayej, Marcy Warren, and Brigitte Segura.
At the gala, guests had the opportunity to bid on a range of auction items, including a day of beauty at Angelo David Salon, dinner for four at El Turco Hamptons Restaurant, tea for two at Mariebelle New York Cacao Bar, and dinner for four at Old Stove Pub.
Music for the evening was donated by Allen Dalton Entertainment Group, a unique entertainment production company specializing in one of a kind acts, music, and show stopping events, with world renowned DJ Superdave spinning hits throughout the night.
What makes an event like this resonate beyond a single evening is the direct line it draws between celebration and consequence. Every auction bid and cocktail purchased translates almost immediately into kennel space, medical care, or a second chance for a dog that might otherwise have run out of time. That tangible connection between generosity and outcome is part of what keeps supporters returning year after year to help fund the organization’s next chapter.
About Rescue Dogs Rock NYC
Rescue Dogs Rock NYC is a 501(c)(3), volunteer and foster based rescue organization. Its goal is to raise awareness of the ever growing plight of homeless animals across the United States, both in shelters and abandoned on the streets. Far too many wonderful animals are euthanized each day simply because they lack a home. Rescue Dogs Rock NYC works to introduce these animals to the public and educate people that unwanted companion animals are not damaged or unworthy, but can be fostered into wonderful family pets. Sadly, animals affected by abuse, neglect, cruelty, or medical issues tend to cost shelters the most, and are often the first to be euthanized as a result.
The organization’s mission centers on rescuing these animals and providing them with the immediate emergency care, medical or otherwise, that they need and deserve. Beyond medical treatment, animals are rehabilitated through trainers and behavior specialists who help them overcome past trauma. Rescue Dogs Rock NYC does not operate a physical shelter, relying instead on a dedicated network of volunteers, fosters, and adopters who welcome these animals into their homes and provide them with a nurturing, caring environment.
