Great news for Singapore travelers looking for a unique getaway without taking a flight!
Just nine miles south of Singapore, a brand-new Indonesian private island, ONE°15 Marina Nirup Island, opened its doors in July, offering an exciting escape.
The first phase introduced a fantastic restaurant, a trendy bar, a modern ferry terminal, and a marina that can host up to 44 yachts, each up to 150 feet long. You can even handle immigration and customs, but you’ll need to make an appointment for now.
Right now, Nirup Island is reachable only by private boat, but that’s set to change with the second phase of development in 2024.
Luxury Hotel on the Horizon Ferry services are gearing up to coincide with the opening of a Westin Hotels & Resorts property, expected in the fourth quarter of 2024.
This upscale hotel will offer 94 rooms and 52 villas, promising a luxurious stay for travelers seeking a memorable escape. In the second phase, The Riahi Residences will welcome guests with 30 villas available for purchase.
Westin Hotels & Resorts already operates 12 hotels in Southeast Asia, including one in Singapore and one in the Philippines.
A Place for Leisure and Business Nirup Island belongs to PT. Tritunas Sinar Benua, an Indonesian real estate developer, and is managed by the marina operator SUTL Enterprise.
Arthur Tay, CEO and Executive Director of SUTL Enterprise, shared his vision, saying the marina will meet the rising demand for yachting berths in Singapore.
He added, “We aimed to create an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind luxury destination for boaters and travelers. The island also aims to attract our growing business traveler demographic for corporate retreats and MICE events.”
Exploring the Riau Islands ONE°15 Marina Nirup Island is part of Indonesia’s Riau Islands, a province in the South China Sea known for private island hotels developed over the past two decades.
One such gem is Bawah Reserve, an island resort opened in 2017. Located nearly 185 miles northeast of Singapore, it’s accessible by ferry and seaplane. It boasts six islands and 36 bungalows and suites, offering a unique experience.
