The Hamptons social calendar achieved unparalleled heights as the Parrish Art Museum welcomed an elite international crowd for its annual crown-jewel benefit. The highly anticipated Midsummer Gala: A Night in the Clouds transformed the museum’s iconic Water Mill campus into an ethereal sanctuary of fine art and high philanthropy. Drawing more than 700 culturally distinguished guests, the breathtaking evening successfully raised over $1,700,000 to fund the museum’s exhibitions, community outreach, and inclusive educational programming.
Set against the architectural grandeur of the Parrish building, the evening blended seasonal Hamptons glamour with a profound dedication to artistic legacy. The museum’s expansive galleries, pristine terraces, and scenic meadows served as the backdrop for a spectacular gathering of artists, philanthropists, collectors, and civic leaders from New York City and beyond.
A Gathering of Cultural Icons and VIPs
The guest list read like a definitive register of the contemporary art world and global high society. Renowned visual artists mingled effortlessly with prominent luxury sector pioneers and tastemakers during a sunset cocktail hour soundtracked by the lively sounds of The Dixons. Celebrated figures in attendance included industry powerhouses, creative visionary minds, and beloved entertainment personalities.
The notable crowd featured Hollywood mainstay John Leguizamo alongside his wife Justine, television personality Chris Cuomo with wife Christina, and iconic contemporary creators like Sanford Biggers and Sheree Hovsepian. High-profile collectors and philanthropists Lisa and Richard Perry, fashion designer Jonathan Simkhai, and Her Highness Sheikha Alia Al-Maktoum added further prestige to the guest roster, alongside New York State Representative Rebecca Seawright and Assemblyman Tommy John Schiavoni.
Celebrating Visionary Artists and Philanthropic Leadership
Under the leadership of Executive Director Dr. Mónica Ramírez-Montagut, the core of the evening focused on celebrating the creative forces that drive the cultural vitality of the Hamptons community. Board Chairman Fred Seegal presented a special honor to philanthropic giant Ellen Katz, praising her extensive history of underwriting major exhibitions, lending masterworks from her private collection, and rallying her influential network of friends to make the 2026 gala an unprecedented financial success.
The museum also paid homage to a glittering roster of visual art honorees who have shaped the institution’s curated legacy. The museum celebrated legendary photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto, celebrated abstractionist Joan Semmel, and vibrant Puerto Rican painter Enoc Perez, all of whom have major solo retrospectives highlighting the Parrish calendar over the next three years. A deeply moving moment of the night included a tribute to the recently passed artistic titan Pat Steir, whose monumental work will be honored next summer in a expansive landmark exhibition titled Color Wheel and Waterfalls.
A High-Stakes Paddle Raise for Critical Community Access
The philanthropic energy peaked on the Mildred C. Brinn Terrace during an exquisite multi-course dinner curated by Thomas Preti Events to Savor. While dining on sesame-crusted shrimp and corn nut-crusted steelhead trout under opulent floral clouds designed by Arthur Golabek Flowers, attendees participated in a high-octane live auction. Led by Rachael White Young of Christie’s, a surge of competitive generosity pushed the evening’s fundraising total well past the $1.7 million milestone.
A significant portion of the gala proceeds will directly anchor ACCESS PARRISH, an inclusive museum initiative celebrating its tenth anniversary of providing tailored, therapeutic art experiences to neurodivergent individuals and those living with physical and mental disabilities. The record-breaking funds will also support the historic Student Art Exhibition, currently entering its 74th year of showcasing the work of over 1,000 local youth, and the ARTscope Teen Council, a paid internship program providing local teenagers with critical professional pathways into the global art market.
An Immersive Night of Design, Dance, and High Energy
Throughout the evening, the celebration evolved into an immersive multi-sensory experience. Guests explored the museum’s critically acclaimed current exhibitions, walking the halls to view masterworks by Ellsworth Kelly, Tony Bechara, and Dennis Oppenheim. The physical spaces of the museum were dynamically activated by the world-renowned Parsons Dance company, who delighted the crowd with surprise pop-up contemporary dance performances across the terraces.
Between gallery tours, attendees enjoyed premium artisanal cocktails from a dedicated Casa Dragones Tequila lounge and captured high-fashion portraits inside an exclusive photobooth hosted by Corporate Chair Capital One. The night concluded with an influx of youthful energy at the Afterglow Dance Party in the Lichtenstein Theater. Chaired by Alexandra Dennett and powered by the high-impact beats of DJ Jason Fioto of Generation Events, dynamic revelers filled the dance floor until midnight, pausing only to indulge in a late-night coffee and donut lounge provided by Capital One.
Brought to life by Dinner Co-Chairs Charlotte Pilaro and Yanina Fuertes, and supported by luxury sponsors Crozier Fine Arts, Greenberg Traurig, Michael Kors, and Related Ross, the Midsummer Gala solidified the Parrish Art Museum’s position as the undisputed beating heart of the Hamptons summer social season.
