Tribeca, New York, September 25, 2025

In a dazzling fusion of history, art, and culture, Tribeca’s One Art Space welcomed collectors, tastemakers, and VIP guests for the highly anticipated opening of Iconic Smokin’ Hot Kiss, a new exhibition by multidisciplinary artist and cultural pioneer Roger Sichel. Anchored by the electrifying image of a Woodstock-era kiss that has become emblematic of the counterculture revolution, the show captures the enduring allure of Sichel’s eye and the evolution of his artistic vision.

The evening unfolded with champagne toasts and gourmet lobster bites as an intimate circle of New York’s art cognoscenti gathered to celebrate the unveiling. Against the striking glass-fronted backdrop of One Art Space, attendees were treated to an exclusive first look at Sichel’s signature work, which bridges the nostalgia of the 1960s with the daring innovation of today’s digital age.

A Countercultural Legacy Reimagined

Best known for capturing the spirit of Woodstock and the raw essence of a generation in transition, Sichel has long transcended labels as merely a photographer. His career, spanning photography, painting, music production, and even technological innovation (notably contributing to the autocorrect function that reshaped digital communication), positions him as a true polymath of American creativity.

The exhibition not only highlights his iconic Woodstock imagery but also presents neo-pop mixed media digital art works that confront contemporary political and cultural narratives. By fusing tradition with innovation, Sichel reflects a lifelong journey of artistic reinvention, moving effortlessly from analog lenses to digital canvases.

The Tribeca Scene

The VIP opening drew a luminous roster of art world figures and society insiders. Guests included Ilene Sichel, MaryAnn Giella McCulloh, Mei Fung, Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe, Leesa Rowland, Dr. Robi Ludwig, Brock Pierce, Donna Rubin, Randy Levine-Miller, Ken Waissman, Michael Catalano, Barbara Tate, Carmen D’Alessio, Jackie Siegel, and many more.

Their presence underscored both Sichel’s reach across generations and the gallery’s standing as a hub where the past and future of art collide.

One Art Space: Where Legacy Meets Innovation

Founded in 2011 by gallerist MaryAnn Giella McCulloh and Mei Fung, One Art Space has become one of downtown Manhattan’s most versatile and respected contemporary venues. Known for championing both established masters and emerging visionaries, the gallery has hosted works ranging from Al Diaz and Shepard Fairey to Andrew Salgado and Purvis Young, weaving together a narrative that connects giants of art history with future luminaries.

With its luminous façade and adaptable exhibition space, the gallery has redefined the cultural footprint of Tribeca, making it a natural stage for Sichel’s vibrant showcase.

Sichel’s Expanding Universe

Beyond this exhibition, Sichel’s works have graced the Hamptons Fine Art Fair, Art Basel Miami, Hudson Yards, and even the lunar surface via SpaceX’s Falcon 9 mission and the Space Blue Lunarprise Museum. In 2023, he founded ARTACOM Festival in Southampton, a pioneering blend of art, technology, and immersive experience. His pieces have appeared in collections from Beverly Hills to Palm Beach and continue to intrigue connoisseurs drawn to his ability to reframe history for contemporary audiences.

More recently, Sichel presented his celebrity series of portraits at Art Basel and The Mar-a-Lago Club, where proceeds benefited “A Safe Haven for Newborns.” The momentum of his career, now spanning six decades, shows no signs of slowing.
