Evening kicks off the 66th anniversary and raises funds for East Side House Settlement
The Winter Show, a benefit for East Side House, held its annual Opening Night Party on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Park Avenue Armory. One of the year’s most highly anticipated events, the evening was attended by guests from the worlds of art, antiques, design, business, and philanthropy, and kicked off the fair’s 66th Edition. Proceeds from the Opening Night Party, and all net proceeds from The Winter Show, support East Side House Settlement — a community-based organization serving the Bronx and northern Manhattan.
The glamorous evening of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres provided a special opportunity for guests to preview the fair’s esteemed 72 exhibitors and peruse and purchase highly coveted fine and decorative arts from around the world, before the Show opened to the public January 24–February 2, 2020. Honorary Chairs Pamela & David Ford were presented with the inaugural Cornerstone of Excellence Award during an intimate dinner in the Board of Officers Room for their unwavering dedication to and work on behalf of historic preservation, education, and the arts. Guests also got a first look at the 2020 Loan Exhibition, Unrivaled, featuring works from the Hispanic Society Museum & Library, curated by Philippe de Montebello and acclaimed architect Peter Marino. Returning for a 24th year, the Show’s Presenting Sponsor is Chubb.

The Winter Show maintains the highest standards of quality in the art market, and each object is vetted for authenticity, date, and condition by a committee of more than 120 experts from the United States and Europe.Â
All revenues from the fair’s general admissions and the net proceeds from the Opening Night Party and other special events benefit East Side House and contribute substantially to its private philanthropic budget. No part of sales made by exhibitors is received by East Side House.
