Jean and Martin Shafiroff hosted nearly 150 guests at their elegant Southampton, New York home to celebrate the launch of the fundraising season for the Southampton Hospital Foundation (SHF).
Philanthropists, socialites, medical leaders, and friends joined Jean, a trustee for SHF, and Martin for an evening of delicious canapés, cocktails, and music by Alex Donner. Notable attendees included Julia McCormack, President of Southampton Hospital Foundation and Chief Development Officer of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital (SBSH), and Emily Mastaler, Chief Administrative Officer of SBSH and President of the Southampton Hospital Association, alongside her husband, Jon McAuliffe.
The event also saw the presence of Southampton Hospital Association board members, including Chair Jim Forbes and his wife Hollis, Treasurer John Wambold and his wife Melanie, and directors J. Oscar Molina and his wife Ana Harsanyi, Dr. Florence Rolston, and Allison Morrow. Summer Party co-chairs Sarah Wetenhall and Elena Ford mingled with this year’s honorees, Father Alexander Karloutsos and Dr. Daniel Van Arsdale, who will be celebrated at the 66th annual Summer Party on August 3rd, 2024. Sarah, who is on the SHF board, was joined by her husband, Andrew Wetenhall, while Elena, on the Southampton Hospital Association board, was accompanied by her husband, Mitch Seldin.

Proceeds from the event support Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, the only hospital on the South Fork of Long Island, in its mission to provide first-class, compassionate healthcare. SBSH is home to the first Level III Trauma Center in Suffolk and the only catheterization laboratory on the South Fork. The hospital earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group, a national independent nonprofit watchdog that sets the highest standards for patient safety in the United States.
