Big things are happening in Saudi Arabia’s future gigacity, NEOM. Since the last update in January 2023, there’s been a lot of exciting progress. On October 11, 2023, at 2:00 PM KSA time, NEOM Gigacity unveiled a new progress video, revealing swift advancements.
With over 60,000 workers on the ground, they’ve been making quick headway in THE LINE, Oxagon, Sindalah, and Trojena. Roads, utilities, and even a hospital are already up and running.
A Thrilling Transformation
The video doesn’t stop there. It also showcases plans for a $2 billion expansion of NEOM’s Port. By 2025, they’ll have a brand new advanced container terminal, a major upgrade to the existing one.
But the real showstopper is the world’s largest green hydrogen plant, set to go live in 2026. It’s a result of NEOM’s collaboration with Air Products and Acwa Power in the NEOM Green Hydrogen Company.
Innovating Infrastructure
NEOM is changing the game with their approach to social and public infrastructures. They’re focusing on international standards for taxation, regulatory environments, and commercial law. Plus, being strategically located where 13% of world trade passes through the Red Sea, NEOM offers incredible connectivity and trade opportunities.
