How to Write High-Value, SEO Optimized Articles With AI Tools?

by Hillary Latos
in Business, Tech

While AI has made it invariably easy to produce content, it has also made the content it creates low-quality and super homogenized. But if anyone, be it for their personal page or for their business, wants to scale, it is inevitable to try and produce their content with AI.

So, how to make articles using AI that will rank on search engines and provide value to the audience? We can give you a hint: you can’t leave the whole thing to AI.

Writing high-value content requires you to look past the basic prompts and use various tools that can help you bring your vision to life in a way that is not generic and forgettable. If you want to create high-value, SEO optimized articles laced with your unique voice, here’s what you need to do.

You Must Have a Plan

AI tools are not your magical typewriter. If your prompt is basic, your article would be even more like every other article that AI coughs up. So, to start your journey of writing valuable articles with AI, you must have a plan.

Before you even look for an app, try answering these three questions:

  • Who are you writing for?
  • What problem are you solving for them?
  • How do you want it to appear on the search results?

Remember that whole keywords may not be as important as they once were, but they can still be crucial for your ranking, especially if you are using them in a way that is relevant to the context.

You can use an AI tool to find keywords like Semrush’s keyword assistant or Surfer’s content planner. Then you can feed the keywords, the context(which you find from answering the three questions you started with), and any other relevant data(any unique angle, your own ideas, etc) to any sophisticated AI writing tool. This is how you get your first draft.

Once that’s done, use this draft as a format, not as the original content. You can consider using a sophisticated humaizer tool, and then edit what comes out, or you can try your own hand at editing the content.

At any of these stages, consider using an AI detector to check for the sections that are being heavily flagged and consider rewriting them.

Choosing the Best Writing Tool

Choosing the best AI tools for writing is not as easy as you would think. While any half-decent AI writer can give you a story, to write a good article, you need to find the right tool for your own style.

You also need to know that most writing tools are not perfect; however, they might be good at doing specific things. Some specialize in creating the best SEO content outlines, while others are better at long-form organization.

If you use Jasper or Copy.ai, they can give you a better structure, while using ChatGPT can give you more creative angles. If you need deeper information, consider DeepSeek, which is well known for fresh information, and you can consider WriterBuddy for tighter formats.

Remember that outlines come first, then you must enrich them with deeper insights and your own ideas. Never leave the whole job to AI, especially if you don’t want it to vomit the same article that is available everywhere.

Your Unique Voice Must Flourish

If you want your content to really add value to your website and to the minds of your audience, you must let your unique voice tell the story.

AI can create the structure and the first draft, but now you must edit heavily. Keep a keen eye out for two things: generic sentences and repetition. These need to be eliminated and hopefully replaced with something better that you can act on.

Use AI to cut down your writing time, but not to replace you as the writer. If it is really your article, it has to sound like it is your article. And no matter how sophisticated your tool, it can never mimic you to the point where it truly sounds like you. So, don’t try to do that; instead, opt to edit heavily.

Be critical, and whatever doesn’t sound good to your ears, remove it. As a writer, you should know what your audience wants to hear. If you don’t have that insight, you can always do a bit more research and hone your skills.

A great way to understand if a sentence won’t be liked by an audience is to ask yourself, “Would I have written this line?” If the answer is no, it’s time to replace it with something better.

Optimize for Your Readers First

If you have been working with SEO for a long time, it can be really tempting to optimize your articles with what you know would help you rank.

However, whether your article will make it past the first few lines before the audience moves on depends on the content, not on SEO. So, your first and foremost focus should be the readers, not your search ranking.

Yes, the basics like the optimized headings, meta, and strategic keywords matter, but what matters far more is to curate engaging AI content that resonates with the audience and makes them want to read till the end.

Remember the second question from your planning process: What problem are you trying to solve for the audience? And just make sure you provide the best, most relatable solution that they can ever find online.

Once that’s done, you can worry about the SEO aspects. Remember, even Google’s ranking system now focuses more on context than on keywords. Make the context count.

Make Sure AI Didn’t Add Fake Insights

This is a big one. We must remember that AI can lie. Because we are getting so used to relying on AI, we forget that it can also generate information that sounds close to the truth but isn’t true.

This is the main red flag of AI content creation. Your AI tools can and will end up generating jumbled-up misinformation and make it sound so relevant that you might think it’s true.

Posting such content is not just unethical, but it also ends up creating articles that are actually not helping the audience. So, what can you do? It is ideal to do some research and not leave everything in the hands of AI.

Google it and check out some related articles. Even if the articles that rank may not always have the best information, you also need to know that articles that have misinformation will eventually get flagged.

Sooner or later, some focused reader will realize and comment on how the information isn’t right. This can hamper your credibility badly, so make sure the information you are providing is accurate.

Final Thoughts

There are so many amazing AI tools available that can help with your SEO-optimized writing that it can be highly tempting to let the bot do the work for you. But if you really want to provide your audience with high-quality, informative articles, you need to get your hands dirty.

The key is to co-create with AI, not become handicapped just because sophisticated tools are available. Become the master of AI tools, while keeping your originality and voice alive.
