On Friday, July 18th, 2025, the French Heritage Society (FHS) hosted its third annual Summer Soirée, a dazzling evening that celebrated Franco-American friendship and the preservation of cultural treasures. Held at the stunning Bridgehampton estate of Maria and Kenneth Fishel, the soirée brought together philanthropists, tastemakers, and arts patrons for a chic and meaningful gathering under the summer stars.
The festive affair unfolded poolside in a setting styled to perfection. DESTREE served as the evening’s fashion partner, Whispering Angel rosé flowed generously, and Christofle added an artistic flourish to each table with curated decor elements. Event design and ambiance were led by Hank Stampfl of Revel Rouge, ensuring the setting embodied refined sophistication.
A highlight of the evening came in the form of a musical tribute by Grammy-nominated vocalist Jennifer Jade Ledesna, who honored the legacy of Josephine Baker, the iconic French-American performer, humanitarian, and civil rights activist. The performance was both soulful and stirring—a poignant reminder of the enduring artistic and cultural bridge between France and the United States.
The soirée was made possible by the dedication of the Host Committee: CeCe Black, Maria Fishel, Rosann Gutman, and Ann Van Ness, who welcomed esteemed guests from the worlds of philanthropy, arts, and heritage.

Speeches delivered during the evening reflected the mission and impact of French Heritage Society. Maria Fishel welcomed guests with heartfelt remarks, followed by FHS Executive Director Jennifer Herlein, who offered reflections on the organization’s progress and vision. Olivia Bourrat, Director of Museums and Cultural Heritage at Villa Albertine, emphasized FHS’s vital role as a global ambassador for cultural preservation and international collaboration. Her comments underscored the organization’s commitment to ensuring that historical treasures continue to educate and inspire generations on both sides of the Atlantic.
Proceeds from the soirée support FHS’s ongoing mission to preserve architectural and cultural landmarks in both France and the United States. Over the past 43 years, French Heritage Society has awarded more than $16 million in grants to support over 700 restoration and cultural projects. Additionally, the organization has supported nearly 600 university students through international exchange internships with prestigious institutions, fostering a new generation of cultural stewards.
