In Northern California’s idyllic wine country, a new sensory journey awaits in early November with Cannescape at Mine+Farm, a boutique bed and breakfast in Guerneville. Spearheaded by Cannescape, a travel-centric cannabis dining company, this one night elevated retreat is at the intersection of travel, cannabis, and fine dining.
Created by Chelsea Davis, a San Francisco-based journalist, Cannescape seeks to redefine high-end escapes, embracing the boundless potential of cannabis-infused dining. Chelsea’s collaboration with Chef Solomon Johnson, the Bay Area’s first Chopped 420 Champion, adds a culinary richness to Cannescape’s already innovative concept.
“Cannescape couldn’t be more thrilled to be hosting its fall retreat at Mine+Farm,” said Cannescape’s Founder, Chelsea Davis. “The inn is home to its own organic cannabis garden and offers guests thoughtfully curated accommodations that seamlessly incorporate the Russian River Valley into the overall experience on property.”
Set within the historic Ridenhour Ranch—over 117 years old and surrounded by ancient redwoods and the Russian River—the property’s tranquility amplifies Cannescape’s mission. As Davis continued, “As the vibrant autumn colors paint the landscape, guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a rejuvenating experience. The seamless merging of Russian River’s stunning surroundings and the healing properties of cannabis guarantees a tranquil oasis for both mind and soul.”
Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a cannabis and CBD cocktail hour, complete with CBD cocktails, made-to-order pizzas, and non-alcoholic Artet cannabis beverages. The laid-back atmosphere is an invitation to unwind, further enriched by an intimate meet-and-greet session with Chef Johnson and other key individuals behind this extraordinary gathering. From there, the experience unfurls in ways that both delight the senses and educate the mind.
One of the highlights of the retreat is a guided tour of Mine+Farm’s organic cannabis garden, which provides a direct connection to the very elements infused in the meals and activities. The garden is a testament to the property’s commitment to sustainability and natural wellness, aligning perfectly with Cannescape’s mission to destigmatize and educate around cannabis use.
Dinner is a six-course affair that transcends mere nourishment. menu will feature produce, cannabis and more from Sonoma Hills Farm, a premium craft cannabis farm and organic culinary garden nestled on 60-acres in Sonoma Valley’s Petaluma Gap appellation, one of the nation’s premier wine terroirs. Chef Johnson showcases a menu that is as visually stunning as it is delectable. Every course is infused with cannabis, turning the meal into an interactive journey through flavors and sensations.
Chef Solomon’s dishes will include smoked Sweet Potato Veloute with Labneh, Spiced Pepitas & Parsley Oil; Roasted Cauliflower with Yuzu, Tahini, Toasted Pine Nuts, & Pomegranate; Cold Smoked Salmon Flatbread with Herb Cream Cheese, Capers, Dill & Salmon Roe; Braised Short Ribs with Kanzi Apple & Pomme Puree, Crispy Fried Onions & Roasted Fall Vegetables; and more.
Complementing this are wine pairings, carefully curated by Justine Osilla, winemaker and owner of Kabayan Wines, to enhance each course, extending the evening into an exquisite culinary performance.
The following morning offers a two-course breakfast and a cup of single-origin coffee from Landrace Origins, adding a touch of social consciousness to your morning ritual. The retreat culminates in a cannabis-infused yoga class, led by the renowned Madeline Berry, offering a soulful blend of physical relaxation and spiritual rejuvenation.
Beyond the gourmet meals and lush scenery, the retreat is rounded out by its meticulously selected sponsors, each echoing Cannescape’s philosophy of sustainable, inclusive luxury. These sponsors include JANE Dispensary, a women-led enterprise providing premium cannabis; That Good Good Farm, a family-run, off-grid farm; and Landrace Origins, a Black, queer, and woman-owned single-origin coffee company.
Also lending their support are Proof Cannabis, a women-owned wellness brand; Artet, a beverage company crafting Italian-inspired, non-alcoholic aperitifs; Green Bee Botanicals, a women-owned skincare brand; and Hautebox, offering stylish cannabis accessories by Charlotte Welch.
By offering an immersive, cannabis-infused experience framed by the beauty of the Russian River Valley, Cannescape’s retreat at Mine+Farm serves as a harbinger of a future where cannabis is seamlessly integrated into luxury tourism. A future worth exploring, indeed.
