New York, NY — The city’s ultimate kick-off to tennis season is set to be bigger than ever. On Thursday, August 21, 2025, Taste of Tennis will celebrate 25 years of tennis and culinary excellence with a milestone event at Aqua New York, a striking 17,000-square-foot dining destination in Manhattan’s Flatiron District.
Created by Judi and Penny Lerner, Taste of Tennis has become one of the most anticipated events on the tennis calendar, drawing legends, current stars, industry insiders, and fans for an evening of fine cuisine and vibrant celebration. “When we first hosted the Taste of Tennis in New York, we never dreamed it would evolve into one of the most anticipated events on the tennis calendar,” said Penny Lerner, CEO of AYS Sports Marketing. “The Taste has become the event for players, fans, sponsors, media, and industry insiders to gather, enjoy incredible cuisine and celebrate tennis in the Big Apple.”
This year’s edition promises a world-class experience at Aqua New York, a venue renowned for seamlessly merging Japanese and Italian gastronomy across three distinct spaces — Aqua Kyoto, Aqua Roma, and Aqua Spirit. Since its recent opening, Aqua has become a premier host for high-profile events, from the Sinners movie premiere with Michael B. Jordan and Hailee Steinfeld to collaborations with the World’s 50 Best Bars.
“It’s an honor to be the host venue for this year’s Taste of Tennis, as the excitement of the US Open returns to New York,” said David Yeo, Founder & CEO of Aqua Restaurant Group. “At Aqua, we’re passionate about creating experiences that celebrate the synergy of food, entertainment, and community, and this partnership is a natural extension of that philosophy.”
Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with tennis pros and rising stars while savoring expertly paired Japanese and Italian flavors. The evening will also feature a special add-on experience with legendary tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou, who will share insights from his latest book, Champion Mindset.
Sponsors and partners for this year’s celebration include Maestro Dobel Tequila, Segafredo Zanetti, Heineken, Tennis Night Out, Chef Works, and Volkl. Tickets for the main event are $515, with limited availability for the Mouratoglou experience.
