South Beach Brewing
With South Beach Brewing Company, we have all found our beach, and it is unapologetically American. In a world where “beach beer” often means a bottle of Mexican lager like Corona, South Beach Brewing Company stands out as proudly patriotic and American-made, infused with the sun-soaked spirit of South Beach.
Founded by Lorenzo Borghese, a successful international entrepreneur and television personality, the company’s beers and natural juice ready-to-drink cocktails do more than refresh. They bring a slice of Miami’s warmth, color, and connection into American homes.
Borghese founded the brewing company in 2017 and opened a tasting room with a full restaurant located at 210 11th Street in South Beach. Borghese and several partners, including famed music mogul and global entrepreneur Rick Ross, have created a universal brand honoring the American way of crafting beers, seltzers, and RTD drinks at home instead of abroad.
“This is about living the Boss life, sipping on something real, bold, and unforgettable,” said Rick Ross.
Ross, known for his Grammy-nominated music, is a cultural icon in the rap industry. With strong business acumen, he founded Maybach Music Group and has built a versatile business empire that spans food, beverage, automotive, and lifestyle branding.
Together, Ross and Borghese have recently launched new THC and CBD infused beverages. They are entering the growing non-alcoholic market with their new drinks Slack Tide and High Tide. Slack Tide has 5 mg of both THC and CBD. This refreshing blend taps into the wellness market through its combination of fresh watermelon juice and fresh mint.
“There is nothing more refreshing after a game of tennis than opening the mimosa can or the Slack Tide drink. The use of real fresh watermelon juice is so refreshing,” said Borghese.
High Tide, a bolder option, contains 10 mg of THC and CBD. With real blueberry and strawberry juices, it is the perfect drink for anyone wanting to unwind after a long day without the negatives of alcohol. Anyone can sit back and enjoy that Boss Life, as Ross suggests, without the downside of a hangover.
“There are a bunch of South Beaches all over the country. South Beach is a state of mind. The partnership with Rick Ross brings a flavorful dynamic to the brand,” said Borghese.
This past month, Ross and Borghese hosted a sunset party with a South Beach hotel to celebrate the launch of their new drinks. They look forward to promoting their ready-to-drink spirit cocktails, which will feature 5.5 percent alcohol by volume and be brewed with real juices. Upcoming Sunday brunch parties and traditional pool parties, in true Rick Ross style, will be key highlights for the brand’s promotion. South Beach Brewing Company drinks can be purchased online, shipped nationwide, and found at various South Florida hotels.
The company has over seven celebrated core beers infused with electrolytes and natural juices. These beers include the Blood Orange Sunset IPA.
“Florida is the citrus capital of the United States, so we brew the Blood Orange Sunset IPA with 100 percent Florida orange juice and our proprietary electrolyte. Unlike other beers, ours are truly refreshing because of the hydrating electrolytes and natural juices,” said Lorenzo Borghese.
What separates Borghese’s brand from others is that it successfully serves the luxury market with a beach, brunch, and hangover-friendly angle. Beer with real Florida juice and electrolytes makes it the perfect sunny day refreshment instead of a heavy craft beer. Borghese understands the brunch market and taps into it with his gluten free Strawberry Orange Mimosa, a bubbly brunch beer infused with real strawberry and orange juices. His South Peach Bellini Sparkling Ale is also gluten free. For those who want a traditional beer without fruit juices, Borghese has created a pilsner and a lager.
South Beach Brewing Company understands that creating the perfect drink with an excellent balance of hydration and taste is an art form. This commitment extends to the company’s packaging. The company’s resident artist, the late Miami icon David Le Batard, known as Lebo, brought each can to life with his artwork. Known for his murals, paintings, and post-modern cartoon expressionist style, his visuals for the brand include flamingos, pelicans, sailboats, palm trees, and more. From the brand’s logo to the taps, labels, and cans, his art appears throughout. At the South Beach Brewery location on 11th Street between Washington and Collins, Lebo’s murals line the walls of this well-known local gem.
The vision behind the brewery comes from famed TV personality and Italian legacy Lorenzo Borghese. Having appeared on The Bachelor, Celebrity Big Brother, and Lucky Bastards, Borghese understands how to create a brand that appeals to a luxury market. As a strong animal advocate, he co-founded Animal Aid USA, a nonprofit organization focused on saving animals and changing laws to stop animal cruelty. He is a board member of Canine Wounded Heroes and works with the ASPCA and the American Humane Society. His animal advocacy work reflects the depth of his character and the passion he brings to all his ventures, including South Beach Brewery.
Born in Milan and of Italian descent, Borghese comes from a long line of notable family members dating back centuries, including his relative Pope Paul V, who served from 1605 to 1621.
South Beach Brewing Company, a proud domestic product, brings a piece of South Beach to everyone’s home as a patriotic expression of American warmth and connection. Through its THC beverages, ready-to-drink spirit cocktails, and Florida brewed beers infused with electrolytes and natural juices for hydration and wellness, the company remains dedicated to bringing people together through the pleasure of refreshing taste. This commitment defines its classic American branding.
