Robyn Newmark: Breaking Down The Boundaries Between Business And Beauty

“Beauty is the recognition of one’s uniqueness and power. It comes from within,” says Robyn Newmark, esthetician and beauty educator. “Beauty is defined differently across the world. There is no one way to be beautiful. Beauty is celebrating everything that is uniquely you.”

Robyn is known as the “Hollywood Beauty Guru” and is the founder of NewMark Beauty. She’s a makeup artist and stylist with over 20 years of experience. In addition to her clinics, which include a newly-renovated state-of-the-art facility in Rancho Mirage, Calif., Newmark trains other professionals in regenerative therapies for skin and hair, permanent hair reduction, permanent makeup, eyelash extensions, and business coaching.

What made you want to become a beauty educator?

Since I was a child, I wanted to be a teacher. I’ve always had a teacher’s heart, and I’ve always wanted to help others succeed. Initially, I wanted to be a fine art teacher. In a way, I guess that’s exactly what I became.

And now you’re teaching other people how to become entrepreneurs?

Yes, I think the marriage of my creative and business skills has really helped me succeed. I know a lot of creative people sometimes think they can’t be good at business, but that is entirely false. Business can be incredibly creative. In fact, in business, I find that my creativity is the skill I use the most. I want other beauty professionals to feel confident in their ability to own a business where they get to do what they love.

What are some of the educational services you provide for them?

We have created an online platform for worldwide education. We offer free and paid classes to our pro members as well as an online store and resource center exclusively for professionals. I am also the co-founder of The Beauty Business Conference. Our virtual business conference collects some of the top professionals in the industry for entrepreneur-based workshops and mindset coaching. Tell me about some of the beauty gurus you work with.

I am so grateful to have worked with so many. To start, Dr. Elliot Lander and Dr. Mark Berman. They are the pioneers of stem cell therapy and fat transfer. They have taught some of the most advanced methods of anti-aging available. I am honored to have them as mentors, and their colleague, Dr. Dan Olesnicky, medically directing my facility.

My next guru would be Dr. Sonia Bansal. She is a world-renown dermatologist and an expert on Skin of Color. I love her skincare line. She is my go-to expert for skin.

Last but not least are Dr. Mark Tager and Robert John Hughes of ChangeWell Training Academy. They have been my executive-level coaches for everything from business to branding, as well as media training and public speaking. Their influence is in every aspect of my brand and business at this point. Mark and Robert are the gurus of the gurus, so to speak. I am so grateful for them.

 How do you hope to change the landscape of beauty?

I want the landscape of beauty to move to a place of more individuality. Instead of everyone trying to achieve the exact same makeup look, hair, or eyebrow, we simply embrace the shapes and colors in which we look and feel best, rather than looking at what others are doing. I love seeing people embrace their features and flaws and making the best out of them. I also want to be help lead in the field of health and wellness. I would like to see beauty and beauty treatments be more preventative and regenerative. Technology and science have advanced so much. I believe that the future generation simply won’t age to the extent our parents and grandparents did. Science and medicine will help us not only look better but actually live longer.

Tell me about NewMark Beauty Center in Rancho Mirage. What is your ultimate goal there?

The NewMark Beauty Center works closely with the California Stem Cell Treatment Center – the top doctors in the field of regenerative therapies. We want to help people achieve beauty from the inside out. This will include a variety of regenerative cell therapy, prp, IV infusions, micro-needling, radiofrequency, body contouring, and more. In addition, we will be offering the most advanced methods for anti-aging and regenerative therapies, as well as a training academy for other medical and spa professionals.
