French Heritage Society Celebrates French Elegance with “Bien Noué”

The French Heritage Society hosted an exquisite soirée titled “Bien Noué”, an evening that perfectly embodied the art of French living. Held at the beautiful home of Pauline Argenson and James Demmert, the event brought together an elegant crowd to celebrate craftsmanship, culture, and community in true Parisian spirit.

Guests were treated to an unforgettable night of champagne, hors d’oeuvres, live music, and a masterclass in French style led by Abigail Goodman, renowned Hermès® scarf stylist, influencer, and auctioneer. Goodman delighted attendees with her signature sessions on how to wear the iconic carré—transforming the timeless silk square into a statement of effortless chic.

A Toast to Tradition and Artistry

The evening’s success was made possible through the gracious efforts of Board Member Maureen Nash, who spearheaded the event’s concept, and the generosity of the event’s co-hosts and sponsors. Guests enjoyed Pol Roger and Champagne Week for their celebratory bubbly, Société de la Rassi for sophisticated zero-proof options, Fabrique Délices and Village Gourmet for artful charcuterie, La Maison du Chocolat for indulgent desserts, and Christofle and Vincent Festa for the elegant serving ware that elevated every detail of the evening.

Supporting the Future of French Heritage

Proceeds from Bien Noué benefited the French Heritage Society’s Education Program, which marks its 40th anniversary in 2025. Since its inception, the program has supported nearly 600 talented young minds, providing career-defining internships that bridge American and French cultural institutions. This year’s celebration was made even more meaningful by the attendance of alumni Alexandra Morrison and Leslie Zacharie, who have since built impressive careers at The Museum of Modern Art and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, respectively.

From the twinkling lights and effervescent champagne to the shared spirit of preservation and artistry, Bien Noué was a testament to the timeless allure of French culture—and to the French Heritage Society’s continued mission of nurturing the next generation of cultural stewards.
