WoW’s Patch 11.2 Ghosts of K’aresh is finally live, bringing tons of new fantastic content and, as usual, some new ways to make gold.
In this guide, we’ll be running through some of the best methods you can use to earn tons of World of Warcraft gold in the new patch and be able to fund all your purchases and upgrades without too much trouble.
As always, the launch of a new season or major patch sends material prices right through the roof. And that means the iconic dual-gathering combo of Mining + Herbalism turns back into a full-on gold-printing machine. It’s one of the simplest and most accessible gold-making methods with no risks or investments, which makes it an excellent choice even for beginners.
New patch mats are now extremely in demand, as they’re needed for the new crafting recipes. Crafters will snap them up as fast as they hit the Auction House, which gives you a great chance to make steady sales and quick profits. A few hot picks you’ll want to keep an eye on in 11.2 are Phantom Bloom, Desolate Talus, K’areshi Resonating Stone, and K’areshi Lotus, all of which can be farmed around K’aresh.
If you’ve been playing WoW for a while, chances are you already have an alt with dual gathering. And if not, it won’t be hard to set one up and take advantage of that crazy material demand while you can.
Before you head out on your farming runs, make sure to stock up on buffs and consumables like Phial of Truesight, Darkmoon Firewater, or Weaver’s Prodigy to boost your gathering efficiency and increase your gold per hour.
The brand-new K’aresh zone is full of new mobs that you can farm for some good BoEs.
Even low-level items still sell pretty well, since tons of players are gearing up their alts and actively buying gear from the Auction House. And if you manage to snag something with a Speed stat bonus, those things will sell like hotcakes. Speed sets are always insanely popular, and players trying to assemble those are ready to pay good money for any decent +Speed bonuses.
As for the farming spots, we’d personally recommend what we call the BoE Triangle. You start in the ruins of Naakroa, then fly slightly to the right toward the Grub Stompin’ World Quest spot, and finally move straight ahead and a bit left to the area where the pylons for the Taking Back Our Power World Quest are located. Then you just loop back to Naakroa and repeat the entire process.
This route can be farmed solo, but since mobs do hyper-spawn, it’s better to go in with a group: with more people making kills, you’ll have more spawns, more targets, and therefore, more loot. For group farms, you can team up with friends, guildies, or just join other players through the Group Finder (go to Pre-Made Groups, type in “BoE farm,” and pick the option you need).
To make things even more efficient, you should farm on Balance Druid or Frost/Fire Mage, as they’ll give you a good advantage thanks to their speed boosts and AoE damage.
The brand-new Manaforge Omega raid is packed with all sorts of shiny rewards, including gear, tier set pieces, and mounts. Most boss drops are BoP (Bind on Pickup), meaning you can’t sell them since they stick to your character the moment you loot them. Trash mobs, however, drop BoE armor with random stats, and those can be sold on the Auction House for some serious gold.
On top of that, one particular boss, Forgeweaver Araz, has a chance to drop the rare Manaforged Instrument. This item is used to craft Contracts with certain cartels and to create the Gleeful Glamour – Ethereal enchant. The drop rate is pretty low, though, and since you’ll need to actually defeat a boss to get it, we don’t recommend running the raid just for that farm alone. But if you’re already heading inside for gear or BoEs, this mat can be a nice little bonus that’ll put some extra gold in your pocket.
With the launch of Patch 11.2, every player gets their hands on the Reshii Wraps legendary cloak as an artifact to upgrade. Unlike some of the artifacts from previous seasons, the cloak isn’t just an extra power source for your character to tap into, but actually a requirement for the endgame content, like the new Manaforge Omega raid.
You can unlock the cloak by completing the third chapter of the new campaign. The item comes with a socket where you can slot in different Fibers to gain powerful stat bonuses. Your first blue-quality Fiber is handed to you for free when you get the cloak, and more blue ones can be picked up for just 100 gold each from the vendor Hashim. The best epic-quality Fibers, however, come only from Tailoring, which means you’ll need to either craft them yourself if you’re a Tailor or hire someone else to do it for you. And that’s something you can seriously profit from.
If you’ve got the Tailoring profession, you’re looking at a very solid income, because these Fibers are in huge demand right now, and players are lining up to pay for Work Orders and get their cloaks upgraded. Even if you don’t already have Tailoring, you might still want to pick it up. All the hype around these Fibers might cool off by the time you level up properly, but Tailoring is still a pretty profitable profession, so it definitely won’t hurt to have it around.
Currently, there are four epic Fibers in the game: Pure Chronomatic Fiber, Pure Dexterous Fiber, Pure Energizing Fiber, and Pure Precise Fiber. To craft them, you’ll need to reach Renown 5 with the K’aresh Trust and then buy the recipes from the vendor Om’sirik.
Making gold doing new content is definitely exciting, but the old-school transmog farms are not going anywhere. You can still do transmog runs in older instances like Scarlet Monastery, Uldaman, or Zul’Farrak and make tremendous amounts of gold. The transmog market remains extremely profitable because collectors are always on the lookout for the pieces they’re missing and are willing to pay a premium to buy them out.
Here are just a few examples of the drops that can make you a decent sum of gold if you’re lucky enough to snag them:
Getting your hands on these big-ticket items isn’t easy, as the drop rates are painfully low. But even if you don’t hit the jackpot in a couple of dozen runs, it won’t be a complete waste of time. Apart from transmogs, old content still gives very decent raw gold, especially from vendoring items, plenty of BoEs and crafting reagents, plus a ton of herbs and ores you can gather and sell if you have the right professions.
