Taking the Hassle out of Booking: How LIVEGRID’s Amir Ben-Zion is Revolutionizing the Entertainment Industry

In the heart of Downtown Miami, entrepreneur and former club owner Amir Ben-Zion is diligently working to redefine the future of the entertainment industry. Pouring over an array of neon-tinted laptop screens, Ben-Zion discusses logistics for his latest entertainment platform, LIVEGRID, with his executive team.

“There have been so many apps and platforms in the past which have been unable to partner with and benefit both booking agents and artists,” Ben-Zion asserts. “But not us. LIVEGRID is made by industry members, for industry members, here in South Florida. We’re not in New York, or London. We’re right here, and we’re not going anywhere.”

More than 15 years in the making, LIVEGRID has served as Ben-Zion’s driving entrepreneurial force over the past few years; to call the platform a “passion project” would dismally fail to capture the level of work, dedication, and passion which has been poured into this initiative. A platform created to increase lead generation and gig opportunities for agents and artists alike, LIVEGRID is unlike anything the industry has ever seen.

Alongside his son, Jordan, Co-founder and COO Jameson Shelnut, and Chief of Staff Steph David, Ben-Zion has shaped the platform into the next generation of centralized party and entertainment booking, crafting a hub which is set to revolutionize the industry. Founded with a guiding mission to restore a culture of dependable work, pay, and dignity to the entertainers of yesterday and tomorrow, LIVEGRID is a testament to the transformative power of the entertainment sector in the digital age.

“For so many people working in entertainment, timely, reliable event payments are their lifeline,” Ben-Zion remarks. “Our team knows how frustrating it can be to wait days, weeks, or even years on end chasing compensation, and we want LIVEGRID to serve as the platform which puts a permanent end to that facet of the industry. We’re here to help artists and their agents generate revenue and visibility beyond their wildest dreams.”

Borne from a conversation between the elder and younger Ben-Zion during a holiday weekend in Amsterdam, LIVEGRID was envisioned as a platform which would unify ticket sellers, promoters, venues, and performers, thereby eliminating the usual hassles and uncertainties associated with traditional booking practices.

LIVEGRID distinguishes itself through its commitment to reducing risk and confusion for artists. For everyone from the aspiring high school DJ to the master mixologist, LIVEGRID promises both instant pay and genuine bookings, mitigating the standard internal havoc which has plagued the industry since the days of yore.

Since 2020, the team has had to grapple with various pressures brought on by the pandemic, along with the complexities inherent in launching a startup. Small hurdles aside, LIVEGRID’s app, developed by the fully Miami-based team, has been designed with a deep understanding of the entertainment industry’s challenges, both foreseen and unexpected.

Not in the business of mincing words, Ben-Zion’s vision for LIVEGRID is crystal clear. “This platform is being shaped to become the Bloomberg of live entertainment,” Ben-Zion says. “We want to give power back to the DJs, security guards, bartenders, dancers- you name it. We understand firsthand what it’s like to be jilted in this industry, and we’re here to change that once and for all.”

The platform has been designed to streamline the booking process for entertainers across the board; by integrating all segments of artist and event management, LIVEGRID provides a one-stop solution for booking. Furthermore, LIVEGRID guarantees reliable, timely payment for artists, addressing a longstanding complaint in the industry and further establishing the initiative as a completely centralized entertainment hub.

But the vision for LIVEGRID extends far beyond the platform itself: the team aspires to reshape the narrative of entertainment as a viable, long-term career, democratizing access to opportunities and putting the focus back on the talent. Ben-Zion, Shelnut, and David aspire to construct a future wherein 95% of the industry’s participants don’t struggle as the remaining 5% monopolize top bookings. In the path paved by LIVEGRID, all are privy to the bonne chance of opportunity.

LIVEGRID is not just another platform in the entertainment industry- it’s a catalyst, a game-changer, and a career builder which encourages the craft, rather than impeding it. As bookings continue to migrate towards a digital future, LIVEGRID remains steadfast at the forefront, restoring the respect, dignity, and freedom upon which entertainment was built.
